This site is a reading site about free things to do in Rome. It is built as plain pages: no accounts, no logins, no comment boxes, no forms of any kind. Nothing is sold or paid for here, so there is very little to collect in the first place. You read about the Pantheon on a free Sunday, or a pay-what-you-want walk through Trastevere, and either you leave or you follow a link out. That is the whole shape of a visit.

What Gets Collected

The analytics script on this site works in aggregate. It counts which pages were opened, a rough country, the kind of device, and which GuruWalk walk links were clicked. That last one matters most: when a reader goes from a page about the Colosseum free walks to a guide's GuruWalk page, the click is what shows the page did its job. No names, email addresses, payment details or travel documents are stored, because nothing on this site ever asks for them.

Cookies And Third-Party Content

Cookies are minimal and mostly borrowed. The measurement script sets a small number of its own. Embedded maps, such as those showing where a Trastevere walk starts, load from the provider's servers, and any cookie that provider sets falls under its privacy policy rather than this site's. • No email address is requested anywhere: there is no newsletter and no sign-up form.
• This site takes no payments and holds no place on any walk. Reserving a spot happens on the guide's own GuruWalk page, and the confirmation comes from GuruWalk too, so nothing about a booking ever passes through here.
• There is no contact form anywhere on the site. Anyone who wants to write can use the contact page, which opens the visitor's own mail program, so the message never touches a form or a server here.

Hosting

The site runs on a third-party hosting provider, and that host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, as part of routine security and abuse prevention. Those logs exist to keep the site online and safe, not to profile anyone. They are never queried to identify a visitor, and no attempt is made to connect an IP address to the pages a person reads or the walks they compare.

Your Choices

Visitors have real choices here. Tracking protection, an ad blocker or a Do Not Track setting stops the analytics script from loading, and every page still works exactly as written. Turning JavaScript off is also fine, apart from the mobile menu.
